The stream is work about immateriality, it’s an illusion: from a Chinese ancient poem “The Reed” to new technological images. This video responds to contemporary global migration experience in the digital era. The work is created with a 3d computer graphics and uses virtual imagery to project the intersection of images from camera and image from CGI. It also raises questions about the mobility and instability that are inherent in systems. Its precondition of being digital is part of its appearance of immateriality insofar as digital’s sort of the site of a contemporary. Being demonstrably digital and therefore proudly seeming dematerialised, its purpose is the blurred boundaries of our visual memories about virtual and lens’ images. As the Chinese ancient poem “The Reed” appeared in the video, visual memories could be an uncertain reality though we have already seen it.
